Study on silver ion exchange parameters of two type zirconium phosphate with different structure

Zirconium phosphate is a inorganic carrier which can be used for ion exchange Study ion exchange parameters of two type zirconium phosphate with different structure to find the way how ion exchange happened. And got nano silver anti-bacteria agents with high silver. We studied α-Zr(HPO4)2·H2O which Zr/P=1:2 and hexahedral zirconium phosphate which Zr/P=2:3 and found different ion exchange way with these two zirconium phosphate. High temperature in acid surroundings can raise the ion exchange amount and ratio when Ag+ was exchanged into hexahedral zirconium phosphate, and the Ag+ content can be more than 4.45%. When α-Zr(HPO4)2·H2O was studied, widen space between layers can raise the amount and exchanged ratio of Ag+ shapely We considered the different ion exchange way of these two carriers and deduce that α- Zr(HPO4)2·H2O can carry more Ag+ than hexahedral zirconium phosphate. This study will helpful when making products with good antibacterial capability, such as catheter used in medical treatment.
