Silver-Loaded Zirconium Phosphate Modified With Aluminate/EVA Foamed Materials
The antibacterial EVA foamed materials were prepared with silver-loaded zirconium phosphate as antibacterial, aluminate coupling agent as modifier and EVA resin as primary raw materials. The surface modification effect of silver-loaded zirconium phosphate was evaluated by FT-IR and viscosity measurement. SEM was applied to characterize the dispersion of the silver-loaded zirconium phosphate in EVA famed materials. In addition, the mechanical and antibacterial properties of the EVA foamed materials were mensurated.
The results show that aluminate covers the surface of silver-loaded zirconium phosphate. It improves the dispersion of silver-loaded zirconium phosphate in EVA famed materials and the mechanical properties of the EVA foamed materials. The EVA foamed materials with 1% silver-loaded zirconium phosphate (modified by aluminate) have excellent antibacterial performance and persistent antibacterial effect. The antibacterial rates achieve 99.95% against Escherichia coli and 98.26% against staphylococcus aureus. After immersed in tap water for 30 days, it has antibacterial rate of 99.73% against Escherichia coli and 97.92% against staphylococcus aureus.
